Outward Focused Church Gathering

We believe that the ‘All Things New’ call of God is to see His Kingdom advance in every area of society. At Causeway Coast Vineyard we have sought to be a Holy Spirit led church, who seek the peace and prosperity of our city, through the hands of every follower of Jesus, everywhere they are, every day. Our desire is to equip other churches seeking to do the same in their context.

The Outward Focused Church Gathering is designed to bring together church leaders and their teams as we tell our story, share all of our stories with one another and explore together what it looks like to see the Kingdom dream become a reality. It’s made up of two main parts:

Outward Focused Church and Compassion Sessions. Read more about each below.

The Outward Focused Church

What is Outward Focused Church?

Since 2003 Causeway Coast Vineyard has focused on loving people who feel on the outside of the church; to care for those who aren’t sitting inside the buildings we so often gather in. Our desire has not to be the best church in the city, but the best church for the city. It’s been a journey that has taught us much and given us so much more to learn.

Through Outward Focused Church, our desire is to unpack our thinking and practise in how we continually seek to do this well, what we are learning and what we have learned so far. We want to share honestly and vulnerably what has worked, what really hasn’t, and what our heart is for the future ahead.

Who is it for?

This session is specifically designed for church leaders and their teams. If you are part of a team and would like to come along, we encourage you to do so with the support of your Senior Pastor. This gathering is intentionally kept small, to allow for lots of interaction, connection and impartation, therefore spaces are limited.

  • Role of the supernatural in city formation

Compassion Sessions

What are Compassion Sessions?

Since 2001 Vineyard Compassion has sought to live out passages such as Isaiah 58 & 61. We fulfil this biblical mandate to serve the poor by providing practical support for those in need, whilst empowering them to tackle the root causes of poverty. Essentially supporting the vulnerable ‘from crisis, to full potential’.

It’s been a journey that has taught us much and given us so much more to learn. We can’t do everything as a church, but we can do something!

Like most churches we have seen an upsurge in the need for our services in the community since the COVID pandemic. Our desire if to help share our experience of how to sustainably love our cities into life.

In these Compassion Sessions we will unpack how God has led us to ‘do something’ – unpacking our thinking and practise in how we seek to provide hope and a solution to local poverty. We want to honestly and vulnerably share what has worked, what really hasn’t, and what our heart is for the future ahead.

Who is it for?

These sessions are designed for church or charity leaders and their teams who have a desire to tackle poverty and social need. Through both the sessions on offer and engagement with others attending from a number of different contexts, we hope this day will help us all to better follow Jesus’ call to serve the communities where we are located. Our Vineyard Compassion staff team will be available throughout the time and are available for any questions you may have on a wide range of issues.

What topics will be covered?
  • Vineyard Compassion journey & context
  • Kingdom mandate for tackling poverty
  • Keeping a faith-based ethos within a secular environment
  • Creating & sustaining partnerships across the city
  • Releasing volunteers to provide hope and a solution to local poverty
  • Role of the supernatural, evangelism & prayer within Compassion Ministry
  • Creating, sustaining & developing Social Enterprises
  • Developing various sustainable income streams
  • How to avoid compassion fatigue
  • Overview of Compassion projects, including Open Door drop-in, Foodbank, Clothing Bank, RESET: Social Supermarket, Link Logs (supported volunteering work programme).
What's the schedule?

Our time runs from 9am until 5pm. It is filled with different sessions, a guided tour of the Hope Centre and project facilities and opportunities for Q&A with different project leaders. We may also run separate workshops depending on the areas of interest of those registering.

What's the cost?

Tickets for Compassion Sessions (one day) are £25 per person, including refreshments and a light lunch.

Tickets for the full gathering – both Outward Focused Church and Compassion Sessions – can be purchased at a cost of £50, (saving £10 per person).
